Creative Suite 4 After Effects and Windows 7 apparent conflict

I just upgraded from Vista to Win 7. I re-installed my Adobe Creative Suite 4 software and everything runs fine except After Effects. When I tried to run a project which had been created in Vista and AE 4 (with driver 9.0.3) I got an error message: Driver 10.0.1 (which is only available at Adobe website for CS 5 After Effects) is required to run these projects. Adobe support offered no solution other than a work-around: Uninstall AE 4; install a trial version of AE 5; open the project in AE 5; and export it as an Adobe Premier project. Then uninstall AE 5; re-install AE 4 and import the new Premier file into AE 4. This seems ridiculous since I had been told Creative Suite 4 was compatible with Win 7 and all the other CS 4 software works fine. Anyway, I did everything up to importing the new Premier file into AE 4. I can't seem to do that. Does anyone have a better solution or an explanation of why I got the error message? It will be greatly appreciated. Jim
