I have Windows XP and installed subject webcam. I can receive sound and
picture through MSN Instant messenger from my daughter who has same
webcam and they can recieve my picture, but cannot received any sound.
Now I think my computer's mic/audio works because when I speak into the
mic I can hear myself from the computer speakers and also when I place
the mic next to the speaker, I get the "wailing" feedback. Any ideas?
Am I failing to "set" something somewhere??
Thanks
John

You may want to check the microsoft.public.msn.messenger news
group, as there are a lot of post there concerning the operation

Try this John,

Open the "Volume Control" panel and select "Options" > "Properties".
Now select in the "Adjust volume for" the "Recording" option.

Make sure that in the "Show the following volume controls" the "Microphone"
is also selected and click on OK
You are now in the "Recording Control" panel.

Now SELECT the "Microphone".. .. Selecting it will (not like the "Volume
Control" panel) ENABLE the microphone.
A lot of people mix this up, as in the "Volume Control" panel selecting it
will DISABLE it.

To get back to the "Volume Control" panel again you will need to go to
"options" > "properties" and select "Playback"

Good luck.
