Hello,

I have had this sound card now for about 3 years. Everything worked fine with XP sp2 along with my old Logitech Z-560(THx) 4.1 speaker setup. Ever since I upgraded to Win7x64 it seems to not like this new card for whatever reason. I uninstalled the Xp drivers, and I disabled onboard sound in the bios. I even tried the latest beta driver on the Creative website. Nothing seems to work for my issue. The issue is that the rear speakers work, but they act as another somewhat muted front, and not a rear speaker. In the Creative Console Launcher, the rear speakers don't make any sound at all when testing channels. I think it is a driver issue, but if anyone has any ideas, any help would be appreciated.

Also, the card stutters a bit during gameplay. More noticeably so during older games like CS Source. It will pause the graphics for 1/2 a second during a sound about once every 4-5 minutes (sometimes more often). Might not sound like a big deal, but when gaming it is downright frustrating.

I have been using 2.1, or stereo just fine, but I would like to use those rear speakers! Of note, the Logitech Z-560 speakers only have a green and black connection both are plugged in.

System:
Win7 pro x64 sp1
Asus M3A76-CM mobo
AMD Phenom II 940 x4 @ 3.6ghz
6Gb Kingston HyperX DDR2
Nvidia GTX 470 Superclocked
Creative X-FI xtreme gamer
Thermaltake Toughower XT 775w

I have looked everywhere, believe me. The only thing I ever come across is PAX drivers and an Steven K's drivers, but these are only intended to make sound better and don't do anything to change the surround sound issue.

The drivers here may have improved the bass, but it didn't fix recognizing the rear speakers. The only clues as you say, that I ever come across, are clues that I should never buy Creative products ever again. The driver support is horrible.
