I sometimes need to purchase from overseas to get parts or tools not available locally.
For many years, I've used paypal for this. This give me the power to just have enough money in the paypal accout for whatever item I'm planning to buy. The idea is that any security breach to Paypal - the amount of money that can be taken is very limited.
Now, for several months - Paypal have removed the feature that makes it possible to insert money directly to the paypal account, defeating the hole idea of using paypal.
Then I attempted to pair paypal to an almost empty bank account in the local bank. This however never worked, and I've seen several people on a paypal forum cannot get this to work. Won't attempt this any more as it's a waste of time. Maybe there are only some few banks that this can work on (paypal ask for the name of the bank, but this is free text and can be spelled many thousands ways with spaces, dashes etc and never declare the rules of this input field - aka. hopeless.
I know I can just use a credit card, and connect paypal to that card. However, since I trust my local bank, but paypal not that much - I'd like to put a hard limit on the transactions (because most of the purchases is less than 200 dollar equivalents anyway).
Then the question arise - Is it any point at all connecting ebay to a credit card compared to just use the credit card directly when purchasing (given the credit card bank/organization have good safety agreement against id theft) ?
