hello all,

I just updated my graphics drivers (drive sweeper all the works ect) to amd's crimson 16.1 drivers and now all the colors are all messed up. i tried playing around but i cannot get it back to normal. previously before crimson i would install amd drivers and it would do this (the tv sees the connection as 1080p) but all i had to do was unplug the hdmi cord and plug it back in and amd would warn me about hdmi dvi something but everything would be back to normal until i updated my drivers again. with these new crimson drivers however the connection will not change no matter what i do its stuck at 1080p and the colors are all messed up. my tv is a toshiba 40 in. (cant remember model number) is there anything i can try to fix this? i read some people saying its the amd hdmi audio drivers but no matter what i tell amd during install these stupid audio drivers get auto installed and no amount of device manager disabling or uninstalling permanently removes the audio drivers. in the mean time ill just have to go back to before the crimson update i guess.

thanks ahead of time for any and all help.

Solution
I've been having a lot of problems with the Crimson driver, including the 16.1 beta version. I was getting crashes in Project Cars, BSOD, and major graphical corruption before the crashes.

I used the AMD driver removal tool and rolled back the the last 15.11 Catalyst driver, and everything is fine. Though the tray icon settings option does open a Crimson settings window for some reason... But if I right click on the desktop and open the AMD settings from the menu, then it does open the Catalyst menu...

Crimson has been nothing but trouble!
It definitely sounds like there is some incompatibility somewhere. I would roll back your drivers and stick with those. To move forward, I would look further into the driver package of what is downloading/installing and see how it affects your experience. Also, I would not use drive sweep to update your drivers. Use the manufacture website; you never know what kind of spyware is associated with all of that.

yeah i already switched back to the 15.11 drivers and its working normally. driver sweeper (i think its renamed to display driver uninstaller) has been suggested to me by a ton of people and i have been using it for 5 years now without a problem its really just to make sure everything is 100% gone. i cant find any solution online about this issue. i may just have to invest in a dvi-d to vga cable or hdmi to vga cable either or i guess. my tv doesn't have dvi ports only one vga and 4 hdmi ports. annoying that its either stay in catalyst and be left behind or look for adapters to fix what wasn't a problem previously.
