Every single time I switch my PC off and come back on reliability history shows:

Description:
The previous system shutdown at X on ‎X was unexpected.

Event Viewer:

Kernel-Power Event ID 41 Task Category (63)
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

No BSOD, Crashing etc I just notice this every day that I check.

Have Ran SFC, DISM & Disabled Fast Boot. Ran trouble-shooters and nothing resolves the issues.

Should I ignore it?

I am aware that the 7000 Errors & Information logs in 1 week of a fresh windows install can usually be ignored. This is the only critical event I am having.

Thanks.

Do you have Windows Fast Startup enabled? This hibernates the kernel on shutdown and restores it on a cold boot. If you have an SSD as your system drive you don't need Fast Startup and it causes all manner of niggly issues.

To turn off Windows Fast Startup go into Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional Power Settings > Choose what the power buttons do > ensure that the Fast Startup checkbox in NOT checked. Reboot.
And does it then power off by itself?
Yeah it shuts down as expected by itself without issue, just noticing that log in the history daily soon as I log back in. Usually after the system has been switched off for a prolonged period, I can shut down and immediately turn back on and it doesn't happen neither does it happen with a restart.

Just leaving the PC off overnight then the following days boot cycle shows the log.

I did have it disabled in my bios but it was still ticked in that windows option. For me its under Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Power Options/Change what power buttons do, then select Change settings that are currently available and it allows you to change the settings that are greyed out. I couldn't locate it using your method. Just so you know & it might help someone else who wanders in here with similar issues.

Thank you very much, I will see if this resolves the issue and post back as soon as I know.
