critical process died

I've just done a system restore and I keep getting critical process died.it keeps attempting to receive start it but it carries on over and over again
What is it and how can I solve it when it won't start.I have windows 8.1 Toshiba computer and it isn't even a year old.prior to this my cursor disappeared for a few days so It briefly came bk on so I tried to solve it by doing a system restore.now my computer won't come on
