So, i've been working on building my first PC for quite a while now and I want to hear the community's thoughts on it.
So my build will be used strictly for photo editing and later, maybe in a couple or months or few years, I will add a GPU so it can better handle some video editing--which I will be getting into.

This is my current build. I'm thinking of getting a slightly cheaper CPU to save some cash and upgrade to a GPU faster. I'm looking to stay at, or below the price for my current build.

This frees up $150 and should perform much better, once you add in a video card:

Looks good. I'd suggest downgrading to a cheaper board if you don't need the specific features the $160 Gigabyte board has; mostly it's just more USB and SATA ports, maybe a 2nd onboard LAN, sometimes they bundle different audio processing software with it. An $80 Z170 board should perform and overclock just as well.

You have a few options for fitting a video card in there. You could downgrade to an i5 6600K and get a GTX 750Ti or Radeon RX460. You could also move to an H170 motherboard and i7 6700 (non-K), and use the stock cooler, and that would save you about the same amount of money and probably outperform the i5-K even after overclocking. You could also downgrade to an i5 6500 (+ stock cooler) and H170 board and probably fit the very excellent GTX 1060 or RX 480 into your budget.

It's a very solid build. I made a few minor changes for the better like faster RAM for the same price, and a better cooler.

This looks pretty sick! If I were to get a i7 6700 (non-k) which mobo would you recommend?

I like this. The price change is huge and since I don't think I will overclock the CPU the non-k 6700 looks preeetty decent.
