I currently have a single 7950 installed in my rig and can run bf4 on ultra with 60 fps, but with new games like GTA 5 and battlefront coming out I thought it was time for an upgrade. I was thinking of buying a second 7950 to run in crossfire or I could sell the 7950 and buy a gtx 960. Please tell me what you guys think

960 versus 7950 is an easy win for the 960.... but CF will get you about 1.5 to 1.6 times the fps of the one 7950

but CF will get you about 1.5 to 1.6 times the fps of the one 7950 and 2 x 7950 is much better than a 960

Selling the old 7950 and getting a 970 would be about a 15% win for the 970. Cost wise, make sure to account for the $60 game coupon you get for Witcher 3 if you plan to get that game.

Save money and overclock that 7950, it will be better than the 960, especially with 3GB of VRAM.

Crossfire is not worth it in my opinion, might as well sell it and buy a R9 290X.

Don't upgrade unless you need to.

dont crossfire, sell and get a better single gpu. Many games dont work well, or at all with crossfire. as for 7950 vs gtx960, the 960 is slightly better but not worthy of an upgrade. I dont think the 2gb vs 3gb has and real world impact at 1080p res, the more vram may avoid stuttering in certain games with high settings.

Your best option would be to overclock and save up for something like a 970 or a r9 290(Price drops soon with newer 390's on the way!!!)I would advise against running crossfire as it doesn't always work like you think it does. Games don't scale very well with multi-gpu configurations only a few AAA games support it but even then you're looking at a few FPS increase for not only a lot hassle with getting games to run (Sometimes games outright wont support multi gpu's so you have to disable one of your GPU's :/ ) But increased Heat output and power draw.

I'll be honest the 7950 is a pretty baller card anyway you will easily be able to run GTA V especially with the VRAM it has, If I were you I would Overclock the card a bit just to give it a bit more of an edge for newer games and save up. AMD are meant to be announcing new CPU's and More importantly new GPU's. With that in mind the current gen R9 290's will become cheaper so you could grab one of them when you have enough or go with a GTX 970 when you get the cash.

Stay Awesome Everyone

A 7950 is gonna cost you maybe $150 on ebay so it will cost you $150 for two

Selling yours for $150, and getting a 960 will cost you another $50.... however, you get a $60 game coupon so that option essentially outs $10 in ya pocket....

Selling yours for $150, and getting a 970 will cost you another $170.... however, you get a $60 game coupon so that option essentially costs you $110 and is faster than the other 2 options.

Either way, whether you were gonna get the game or not, I like the 970. Getting 2nd 970 say 18 months down the road, will keep you in happy gaming land for 3-4 years. SLI performance on the 970 is incredible:
