I have a low end gaming / game design pc that im looking to upgrade the graphics on if possible while i save up for a pair of 4gb video cards.. I recently obtained an XFX Radeon 7850 1gb card from my room mate who was moving out and had no use for it so he just gave it to me.

Ive been having frame rate issues with World of Warcraft and other games, as well as general slowness when doing 3D modeling in 3ds max for my game design.

Im hoping that the card he gave me can be crossfired with the one im currently using.

Solution
You can't Crossfire a 5770 with a 7850, they are two totally different series (5000 series versus 7000 series).

Crossfire requires both cards to be of the same series.
