Crossfire different brands?

Hello,

I am a little new to the world of configuring the PC in varies ways. My one question is,

I purchased a "Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290 Card" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JJJW4Z2/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Can I crossfire this card with another reference card? such as,

http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Version-PCI-Express-Graphics-11227-00-40G/dp/B00HJOXUKC/ref=pd_cp_pc_0

or any other R9 290 cards?

You can use any cards as long as they have the same base card. So any 290s, a 280x and a 7950 etc.

As for the cards, both will be limited to the card with the least memory, and the slowest clock speed. So you will either have to OC one card to match the second, or allow the faster card to throttle down.
