hello everyone, i am going to be building my own AMD-powered PC in a few weeks and i am in need of help. i plan on running my games at the highest performances at the resolution; 1920x1080. i was wondering if i should:

• crossfire two ATI Radeon HD 6850s - (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150551)
• or use a single EVGA NVIDIA GTX 570 - (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130593)

if i decide to crossfire duel 6850s, how much will i need on my power supply? additionally, for a monitor, should i purchase a 32in. Samsung LED TV or a 24in. ASUS LCD-LED monitor?

I would reccomend going for a single GTX570.That way when you have enough money you can get another for SLI sometime down the road.Which would be much more powerful than a 6850 crossfire.

The power consumption for a 6850 crossfire and a single GTX570 is roughly the same(about a 30 watt difference). So the wattage of the PSU should power both either way.Although if you did want to SLI with the GTX570 then you would need a much bigger PSU.About a 750watt or more if you want.

Choosing a display is totally up to you but my personal suggestion is to go with a real monitor and not a TV.Monitors have a lot better looking picture than TV's.

I Recommend you getting a single GTx 580 because even at 1920x1200, things can get maxed out and even at 2560x1440 with BF3...
At 1920x1080, i recommend getting a single 570(Or 6970 2GB/1GB) because a GTx 560 probably not max everything on BF3 at 1920x1080... I Recommend getting the Asus instead of samsung because Bigger Screen size isn't good due you those boxes/pixel you see on screen which is huge so not good for gaming... If i were you, i rather get a 23.6"-24" 1920x1200 and a single GTx 570(Or 6970) with 2MS LED 3D(Optional) 120Hz and that's about it... The price of the GTx 570 and a 24" 1920x1200 should be around $700...

Note: In 6 months, PCI-E 3.0 will comes out and replace the current PCI-E 2.0(Not replace but faster) which will be Kepler for Nvidia and the ATI is in the 7xxx(Not sure, just some guess as it comes earlier than PCI-E 3.0)

1) I would go with a single good card when it will do the job.
a. A single gpu will eliminate the root cause of microstuttering.
b. A single card will not need as strong of a psu, a sli/cf capable motherboard. and better case coooling.
c. Some games do not like dual cards, and may have driver issues.

2) If you are looking for highest gaming performance, you might want to look at a 2500K instead of amd.

legendkiller was hired by EA to convice people with computers that they can't run BF3, and therefore are obsessed with getting it, in the process completely forgetting about a little hangup called Origins. JK

^no, legendkiller just has no clue what he is talkin bout. You will need a good quality 550w PSU to run a gtx570, a 600w psu to run 2 x 6850's and a 750w to run 2 x gtx 570's. a single gtx 570 can run any game out at 1080p maxed out, but if you then add AA cranked up you may want a second 570.
