Crossfire in the future

One of DX12's main feature was that it made CF easier. However i hear a lot that CF is dying, and AMD/NVIDIA dont support CF/SLI as much as they did. Which one is true? What are your thoughts on RX480 CF? Is it possible that AMD would stop launching CF profiles? Thanks
