Crossfire or 7970?

Hi, should i buy another 7870 and crossfire them or uograde to a 7970? my motherboard (Asus M5A97 R2.0) has to 16x slots but one of them is only running at 4x so thats a downside.

Don't crossfire with that mobo. If you already have a 7870 I don't think it would be worth it to upgrade to a 7970. If you can wait you should hold off for the next series to come out.

You should upgrade your MOBO before you decide to run a crossfire setup. Also what is the size of your power supply? You may need to replace it as well to run a crossfire setup. I have 2 7850's in crossfire & I'm using a 675w power supply to power them. With the release of the HD 8000 series you may want to hold on just a little bit longer before replacing your 7870.

I wouldn't crossfire it if you have to buy a new mobo and psu. Personally I would just hold off because the 7870 is a pretty capable card. Whats you full specs btw?
