So i have an xfx 7950 dd and i want to crossfire. The problem is after having a bad experience with a retailer(scan-computers) who refused to replace a faulty component and claiming it wasn't faulty. I am now very picky on who i purchase computer parts from and unfortunately all the places that sell this card have awful reviews of people complaining about customer service and returns. Would it be possible to use say a His, asus, gigabyte card to crossfire my xfx card with?

Yes, you can crossfire your 7950 with any other brand of 7950. I run 2x Sapphire 7950's but they are different versions, one is an OC edition, one is a Boost edition. Keep in mind that if the next 7950 you get has a different clock speed, in crossfire the cards will run at the speed of the lower card (shouldnt be a big deal at all).

Before jumping into crossfire, you may want to read up on the issues ATI is having. They are supposed to be releasing drivers this summer that will address the issues but only time will tell. While crossfire isnt a bad solution, it does take some tweaking to reduce studdering and there are times I question the value of it vs what I paid for my second 7950.
