Hi all,

I have recently purchased the MSI R270, and then later on bought the XFX R270X when it's on sale. My question is, is my R270 compatible with R270X for crossfire setup? I heard a long time ago that it's possible within the same series, like Nvidia 7xx or 6xx.

Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
The R9 270 is the same things as the R9 270x. The 270x is just over clocked.
To crossfire them, you need a 700 watt PSU , 2 PCIe 16x slots both running in at least 8x mode, and both cards have to be of the same clock speeds and VRAM.

Thanks for the fast reply IRONBATMAN!

When you say both cards have to be in the same clock speeds, does that mean I have to either overclock the R9 270, or underclock the R9 270x to match the speed of each other? They both are 2GB GDDR5.
