Crossfire / SLI question

Easy one i think....

If you have a crossfire board, does that mean it WONT support ANY Nvidia graphics card? or vice versa?

It will support a single Nvidia card, but not 2 in SLI.

I'm not really bothered about 2 graphics cards.

So basically if i want a SINGLE nvidia card for a crossfire board thats ok? will i lose performance or have any compatibility issues or is it fine as long i dont try and SLI on my Crossfire board?

no performance will be lost when running an nvidia card on a crossfire compatible chipset. however, in some cases you ARE able to run SLI on a crossfire board. For example, with my DFI Infinity 975x, someone released hacked drivers which allow SLI to be run just fine.

What if it's the other way around?

For example;

You have two X1950 PRO's and want to run them on a 680I SLI motherboard. Is that possible?

Yes, but not in Crossfire (or SLI).

Regarding the single card set up and board, it doesn't matter who made what from where, so long as the board has at least one PCI-E x16 slot, you're good to go.
