hello!
I have recently bought a new strix r9 380 for crossfireing with my exact copy of another r9 380 that I have been running with awesome results.
my system: msi 970 gaming mobo
16 gb 1330hz ram
550w psu
2x strix r9 380 gpu
amd 8320e cpu
windows 10 x64
I installed the gpu's as instructed on many forums; uninstalled all drivers for gpu, placed new gpu in first pci-e slot-turned on and updated all the drivers, replaced new gpu with old gpu-updated drivers, placed both gpu's in mobo in pcie x16 slot.
hey presto the 2nd gpu appeared in the board explorer and device manager in the os, also was synched in gputweakII and showing stats for both gpu's. AWESOME as my previous attempt had failed due to a DOA card.
turned off pc, and it has never worked again.
so read a few forums and they said that the crossfire is buggy as s##t and if I was having issue with it it would be better to re-start the system and start from scratch.
did that (5hrs!!!)
repeated step 1... nothing.
updated bios to newest version... nothing
(p.s, the power is connected and the led is on and the fans work, the new gpu is not dead as I am using it as I write)
HELP!!! have I missed something am I being stupid, or is just difficult to keep stable?
