Crossfire Stuttering?

I used to have 2 GTX 460 768MB cards in my Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 board, but (since the board does both Xfire and SLI @ x16, x16) I decided to give Crossfire a try with a couple HD 6850 1GB cards. It proved to be a very fast gaming setup at 1920x1080, but in some of my games I get a noticeable stutter that I never had with the SLI setup. It's not a bad stutter, just enough to be noticeable. So far, it's most noticeable in Deus Ex: HR and its DLC.
Is this something that's more prevelent in Crossfire? I never experienced it in my SLI setup before. The processor I'm using is a 3.7 GHZ Phenom II X4 980 w/2x4GB 1333MHZ memory. I'm using the Catalyst 11.9 driver and profiles.

Very interesting... I'll want to read the entire article when time permits. But it sounds like I'm stuck with micro stuttering as long as I have those 2 HD 6850s in Xfire. Or until AMD finds a software solution and implements it in their drivers.

Yes, Ive been wishing for that for a long time now. I found to reduce microstutter try to cap your max framerate to at least 45fps and have it locked there with Vsync enabled. If the fps start dropping down just lower your graphical settings until the framerate locks at your set max. U might have less graphical eye-candy but you will have much more enjoyable smooth gameplay.

As noted in the article, there was much less micro stuttering with the 6950's. No other crossfire setups were used in the article.

I have noticed a lot of complaints from 6800 users. It might not be a broad general problem with all AMD's, but it is certain the 6800 cards have this issue.
