I currently have 2x Asus AMD R9 Fury X's running in Crossfire.
I want to trade them in for a GTX 1070 8gb and want to know if it will make sense to do it?

My system:
Intel i7-6700
32gb 3000mhz Ram
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7 motherboard

Thank you.

Multi GPU setups are now pointless since more and more dev's are focusing on single GPU's. The support for multi GPU is there for game dev's to access but game dev's tend to spend less resources on troubleshooting and doing things that are easy to iron out.

You're right to choose a single most powerful GPU over a dual GPU loadout. Also, you burn less power with one, not to mention a GTX1070.

Thank you.
So if I'm understanding you correctly it is worth it to change to a single GTX 1070 although performance won't make a big difference?

Any particular GTX 1070 in mind that will work well with my system...I had a look at the Gigabyte Windforce OC edition?
