Crossfiring 2 GTX 980's...Possible or Not.

Complete Noob here.

Is is possible to crossfire 2 GTX 980's on the Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 Motherboard with an i7 CPU or does it have to be SLI ready in order to use Nvidia's 2 GTX 980's ????

XFire is only for AMD GPUs.
nVidia supports only SLI.
GA-Z97P-D3 can only XFire.
Thus, no 2xGTX980s for you on that mobo.
