Hey everyone,

So I finally upgraded my motherboard and processor and am contemplating crossfiring my graphics card. I know you're only supposed to crossfire with the same kind of graphics card but my graphics card has been discontinued. I have the HD Radeon 6870 and I am wondering if it is possible to crossfire it with another 800 series or anything like that. Also I am curious if my power supply will be able to support it. My power supply is a 500 watt.

Other specifications:
Motherboard: gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
Processor:AMD fx6350 processor, 6 core

Solution

It can crossfire with the HD 6850 as well as other 6870s. It's best to go with a 6870 though.

And Crossfire does have some issues, so you might also want to consider selling...

And Crossfire does have some issues, so you might also want to consider selling your 6870 and just buying a single powerful card.
