Hi, I'm new here as I have just tried building my own PC for the first time (I built one about 7 years ago with the help of an ex, doubt she would appreciate a call for help now...). But as expected, not everything has gone smoothly, so I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've

I have a Crosshair V Formula Z Mobo, FX-9590 CPU, Corsair h100i CPU cooler, 4x8gb Corsair Vengeance RAM, MSI Radeon R9 8gb graphics card (only 1 connected right now, but 2 ready to crossfire once set up)

Everything set up, got through a few fault codes by searching the internet for similar problems, but now stuck with Qcode 99 alongside the VGA led and Boot Device led. Nothing shows on screen (no signal) through an hdmi cable from the graphics card, tested with 2 different cables on 2 different monitors.

Any thoughts on what could be giving me issues?

Thanks

Ok, thanks, the Graphics card/GPU is an MSI Radeon R9 8gb. I'll follow your guide tomorrow night when I have more time, and ingers crossed it will be sorted. Thanks again!

I'm back, followed your guide and Huvik's advice, and on startup I get either the same or sometimes Qcode 66 now instead. The board is benched with only the CPU, cooler, PSU and 1 stick of RAM in the 1st slot, still no luck, anything else I can try?

I'm back again, swapped the graphics card for the other that I was planning on using to crossfire once set up, and got further, but still no display, got Q code 06 now 'Microcode loading'. Any ideas what that means? Got it set up benched with Mobo, CPU, cooler, 1 RAM stick, graphics card, mouse and keyboard.

New code after a couple of restarts and reseating power cables and plugs - it now sports a seemingly random Q code on each reset, choosing between 99, 06 and 0d... but still nothing shows on the screen...

Right... It's working, but I'm sorry to say that if you are here looking for an answer to cure your own problem, I don't really have one... After a lot of trying things, replacing cables and dealing with everything I could think of/ had suggested to me... I took it all apart again, built it back up in the case and... It works...

Long story short, if you are having these issues, try rebuilding from ground up and cross your fingers! Obviously I had been doing something wrong up until now which I did differently this time.

Next problem I will be heading into the GPU section for some help there. Thanks for your advice guys, got there in the end!
