Hello.

Yep this is a very old school board ,but due to the current climate of overpriced tech i am or was still using this board as it did what i needed it to do.

I know this is a long shot and i am most likely one of a few people that till use this board today.

I witnessed a chip blowing up with a nice puff of smoke. I have tested the board with a multimeter and everything else seems ok part from obviously the dead chip.

Problem i have is the chip name/serial number is burnt away and i want to replace it if possible with a new chip.

I have added a few pictures to show you which chip it is and if anyone can help identify this chip i would be greatful.

Cheers

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

If you look at the SMD located towards the left of the red boxed area, you should be able to source the same thing from your local electronic supply shop or you could look into a For Parts Only listed motherboard from Ebay.

I did locate the chip which I have added a link to the image of it.

But for the life of me I can't find it anywhere on the net. Maybe it's under a different code now.

It's the chip that begins with CEB orCE8
