Hi, i own a Sony Multiscan g520 CRT Monitor. The monitor is hooked up to my GTX 1070 and has a Displayport to VGA adapter hooked up to it. I just bought this monitor off eBay. It shipped almost brand new and in the original box with great packaging. The monitor turns on and off fine. When i hit the power on the Power LED will stay green for about 15 seconds before turning into a blinking orange/amber color. it will stay that way and the screen remains black. The on screen display buttons do not work as well. Help please.

Yes it is active. here is the exact adapter i own. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005AT2LI0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I have also had other CRT monitors that have worked with my computer.

The reviewers there say it works it should be working. Have you tried all dp connections on the card?

Check the dp ends are connecting properly. Should feel the pointy notches snap in.

If you can, test the monitor with a native vga connection if thats possible to be sure.

How come you went with a crt screen if you don't mind me asking

It worked with my other CRT.

DP ends are connecting properly.

No native VGA computers in house.

I like them :)

Just found out my laptop has VGA will hook up right now stay tuned

Hooked my Laptop up to the CRT. I forgot my password to this laptop so i could not log in. But there still seems to be no change. Really hope this is not a hardware issue. Thought the laptop still detects the CRT as when i pull the VGA plug you can hear the windows sound from the computer.

The laptops upper half of the screen is broken. So i was unable be able to view the top part in bios 😡
Is it highly likely the monitor itself is broken or the DP to VGA adapter is faulty?

Just bought a new adapter just in case. I do unfortunately believe the monitor may be broken. The VGA cable works fine and has been used before. I just don't understand. i bought a CRT right before this and it arrived with the case completely broken yet it still worked. This one came packaged perfectly and will not work 🙁

With the age of crts the chance of getting one still working is questionable or least not knowing the state it's in. It might be fixable if that's the case but parts would be hard to find.

Might be an idea to give in and go a 16/9 ratio Tn monitor with hdmi or displayport.

According to the manual This CRT has a B+ Failure. I'm not really sure what that means. I tried googling and could not find much. Is there any way to fix it? what is a B+ Failure?
