Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm in a spot of bother with my CRT television. The problem is, when it is switched on, the picture is tiny and the left and right sides are curved in towards the centre.
The model is a Bush WS667 1SIL 28"
I have called the local TV repair, but they don't want to know and I have done some research of pincushion distortion but I dont know how to fix it.

Any Help would be appreciated.

Solution
You probably need a new tube, although I have heard some repair people are able to fix this with resetting something on the inside of the TV. Seeing how a 32" new LCD TV is only a couple of hundred, I doubt it's worth paying anyone to fix your old TV.
Just reset the monitor if there is a option. Use de-gauge option for flickering. For curve screen there is always a option to adjust vertical, horizontal, left and right curve try it may be it can help.

I can imagine three possibilities:
1- the beam deflection circuitry is having problems such as some solder joints failing
2- some components may have aged/deteriorated beyond design tolerances
3- if the display has a microcontroller managing beam deflection, it may have lost its factory calibration for some reason and you will have to hunt down the service manual to find the secret trick to access calibration controls if they aren't available on the normal OSD.

okay guys, thanks for the replies, there is no option to reset the monitor. However, I shall try and look for the manual and re-calibrate it.

Thanks for the answers guys, but there seems to be no option to de-gauge the TV. I don't have any skills of soldering so I'll probably get a new TV - isn't worth the hassle.
