One should never roughly equate the BX500 with an MX500....or even consider them similar, beyond each earning the name/moniker, 'SSD'....I feel like i've been scammed by Crucial... My sandisk was smaller but WAAAYYY faster... the only solution now would be the "storage executive" from crucial? Will it perform like a Sandisk?
I will try that by the end of the day... I'm working on my computer right now, so I can't be restarting now...Try this.
Unplug all other disk.
How long does it take to boot?
Oh i found out what took the extra space, it was Battlefield V... Origin wont function well with games installed outside C:How can you clone a 240GB source and come out with a 313GB destination?
Can you post a screen shot of crystal disk info?
Bios time....I don't have your machine but I see 2.5-4.5 secs.
What was the results after you unplugged the hdd?
The .net update may just be a normal update that your being fed.Sorry i forgot to try... after rebooting it took 34 seconds... I've noticed that last time had some .NET Framework update in the background...
Nothing jumps out there as being bad.

Am I correct that it takes 3-4 mins to boot with the hdd connected and 30-40 secs with the hdd disconnected?
If so connect the hdd and do a clean boot....see google.
Until your ready to unplug the hdd for test purpose I don't think I can help.See how "unpredictable" and "weird" are these boot times... they vary so much, from 35 seconds to 250 seconds without any changes to windows or hardware... that made me think about the sata cable or some kind of bad connection...
Leave the hdd unplugged just to get it out of the mix for testing.
I used a command to check the boot up time... the "xbootmgr -trace shutdown -traceFlags BASE+DIAG+LATENCY -noPrepReboot" and funny enough it booted in only 44 seconds...that program doesnt really tells you why its taking so long to load
microsoft has tools for that
but most likely try to cleanup restore points
press window key + pause/break on keyboard, or open system setting
click there system protection
select drive where protection is set to ON, then click to configure
press delete button
xbootmgr –trace boot -traceFlags BASE+LATENCY+DISK_IO_INIT+DISPATCHER+DRIVERS+FILE_IO+FILE_IO_INIT+FILENAME+NETWORKTRACE+PERF_COUNTER+POWER+PRIORITY+REGISTRY -postBootDelay 300 -resultPath C:\Boot_Trace
