So, I intend to upgrade my Storage option from an HDD (1TB 5400 rpm) to an SSD, and I have two ptions: 240gb Sandisk SSD Plus or 275gb Crucial MX300 (That's what they sell in my country).
I notied from online benchmarks that the crucial has a much better performance but, unfortunately,
I've also read here ( http://forums.crucial.com/t5/Crucial-SSDs/Crucial-MX300-SDD-Windows-10-Freezing-HELP-ME/td-p/175140 ) about the crucial MX300 Freeze issue.
So can anyone confirm this issue or deny it, I'm really confused.
Thanks in advance

Do you have windows installed on it? or is it just used for storing media and stuff?? coz' the issue is said to happen wit windows installed on it

As said I use it as a second drive. I use it to install games and other large programs. Windows is installed to my first drive, a 240 GB Samsung 840 EVO.
So no, Windows is not installed to that drive, but at the same time it is not used for storage either. I have a third drive, a WD 1 TB hdd I use for storage.

I have a MX100 that would freeze. Disabling link power management in the Intel RST interface did the trick for me. Something about that doesn't get along with Crucial's controllers.

This is in a Sandy Bridge era laptop; the newer systems seem to get along fine with Crucial's drives.

Can you tell me about your setup/ motherboard? I'm trying to find some kind of pattern!

I have an MSI z270 SLI Plus mobo and i5-7600K cpu with gtx 1070 gpu. I started out with a single ssd, which is mx300 for my windows and apps, and mostly use external drives for now, since I had them from a previous system, for more bulky data storage. I will eventually get another ssd, and crucial had really good price/performance ratio when I was buying this, and didn't disappoint, so I'll consider it for future ssds. If you need any other info, let me know. Oh, I use win10 pro. Have done dual boot linux/win10 with this drive for a while. If you do have it (or get it), make sure you do read about sleep vs hybernate, setting your windows power settings so that your SSD is never fully off even when system is asleep, to allow for garbage collection/TRIM. Crucial explains how to do this:
http://forums.crucial.com/t5/Crucial-SSDs/My-SSD-used-to-be-so-much-faster-but-has-recently-slowed-down/ta-p/118310
Without it, it's a source of many complaints from users who run into a wall performance wise with these drives.
The only freeze issues with these drives I've heard of had to do with third party backup software conflicting with some intel drivers and freezing the drives. Peruse crucial support forums for more info.

Thanks a lot that was really helpful!
