[SOLVED] Crucial mx500 delxps8500

A year ago we installed the crucial mx500 into my sons dells xps8500. Not sure what has happened but it's stuck in a boot loop. Boots says there is an issue windows can't repair. I tried installing windows from USB I get a message saying windows is already installed. Like I want to scream.

What do I do

Are you attempting a clean install, wiping everything?

I got it from windows website and it's on a USB. Everything is unplugged but a keyboard and mouse.

It was working fine booting from his mx500 where everything is saved. Games ect. But the pc won't boot from his mx500

Then you're not selecting the correct thing.

Legacy is enabled
Boot mode uefi
Boot device shows his hard drive as first

You check settings in BIOS before install (not after).
Make sure sata controller is set to AHCI (not raid and not Intel RST).
