I recently bought a Crucial MX500 M.2 500gb to use as a boot drive on my PC.
The problem is that it does not show up in the bios.
The ssd is supported by my motherboard: asrock z170 extreme4.

I tested another MX500 M.2 250gb that I use for the boot drive in my laptop, which worked perfectly fine on my PC

I then tried the 500gb on my laptop and showed up in the bios there. I decided to install windows on it from the laptop and updated the firmware.

However when installing it back into my main PC it still doesn't get detected.
It confuses me that the 250gb sdd works fine but the same model 500gb isn't being detected. And both work fine on my laptop.

The MX500 is a SATA M.2 rather than an NVMe. The manual says the slot should support either type. It also says that you can't have anything connected to port SATA 0 or SATA 1 at the same time. It could be a BIOS issue, have you updated to the latest BIOS.

Yeah, I tried updating the bios and clearing the CMOS. All the other SATA ports are empty. No luck there.
