I have a few retired paint brushes in my SDB but I would not feel
bashful about selling them as they still have a collector's value.

And in any case, it would make sense to check at the rainbow pool that
your particular pet could be painted with a particular brush before
purchase - you cannot play the game for them.

Because Neopets have decided for that to be the case and have retired
the item. As to "why", you would have to ask them.

As to why they are still giving out retired items, you would also have
to ask them. 🙂

Also, if you go to the rainbow pool, there isn't an option to look at glass
neopets. I didn't go through all the pets individually, but seeing as they
have single listings for things like Apple, when only the Chia can be done
that colour, I'd think if Glass was even an option, it would be listed in
the colour section.

They used to work but have since been, for whatever reason, retired and
therefore work no longer.

Yeah... I thought giving out retired items was a big no-no, guess it's not
something they've caught yet.
