crushing extra 4 pins in dvi-i cable to make dvi-d

Ok so I got an old Dell LCD 1907FPc
The LCD has a VGA and a DVI-D connectors for display, problem is that in my area only dvi-i cables are available, so is it possible that if I crush 4 extra analog pins in dvi-i cable to plug in a DVI-D connector? Will it work? Or could cause any hardware or display malfunction?

In theory it should work, but I have never tried it. I would however try it my self if I was in your situation. Let me know what happens if you go through with it. Good luck!

Crushing it may cause a short. Instead, I'd try to pull the four offending pins out with a pair of pliers. Should work in theory, since the four pins have no connection with the others.

Actually my idea was to use A plier but I mistakenly used the word "crush"
