News flash! They're called laptops!

If you need a keyboard for your iPad, guess what? You don't want an iPad. I wonder how long it will take for consumers to make educated decisions when buying electronics.

i personally like it, but even if it was windows or android, most of them would face palm at this is a tablet that is being put into in laptop case, they will see it as stupid.

i like it for screen protecting,
i like it for always haveing a keyboard attached, and something to hold the tablet, not set the tablet you set the tablet on
and it looks like it can fold back all the way so the tablet as a tablet is easy to use.

what people who complain about this is because you spend in this case 600$ for a tablet and put it in a laptop case, but they arent realizing that a tablet has apps for it that will never go on a computer, and just because you have a tablet doesnt mean you like useing the crap taststic keyboard.

this would be a god send to anyone who really replaced their pc with a tablet.

Personally, I would never replace my PC with a tablet. If I'm going to spend $600 on portable hardware, I rather have a 15.6" laptop versus a 10" tablet. There are some things you can't do on a tablet than you can do on a PC. Also, the majority of apps for a tablet are available for a PC one way or another. The only ones you would never want to install on a PC are the ones designed for specific sites, such as for banks or Facebook.

lets say that this came to a 200$ or less tablet, would you be willing to go with this at about 300-350$ or get a 300-350$ notebook?

for me that would be a tossup, because at the 300-350 range i think a tablet would have more features than a notebook

Notebook. Also, there's no way a tablet would have more features than a PC. Can a tablet play a DVD? Nope. Can I install the OS I choose on a tablet? Nope. Can I install Microsoft Office on a tablet? Nope. Can a tablet store 100GB's of data? Nope. Does a tablet have a bigger screen than 11"? Nope. Can I print with a tablet? Nope. Can I backup my data to an external hard drive and/or DVD+RW with a tablet? Nope.

Sorry, a tablet is just an email machine to me. The people I know who love a tablet spend all day checking Facebook, not real work. I work for a living, so I need a real computer.

ok,
can a tablet play a dvd, yes it can
can a tablet run office, a version of it i believe
can it store 100'sgb of data, no reason it shouldnt
print from a tablet, yes you can
i quote "backup my data to an external hard drive and/or DVD+RW", dont know were you are going with that... why would you want to back up what should be a back up to a tablet?

screen size, i will give you that, but have you ever used a tablet? and i dont mean picked one up in a store and tried it, i mean used it for a few hours on your own? the small screen size is almost a non issue with them because of how easy it is to zoom in on anything.

now lets go to dvds, you ever come here often? every article that has anything to do with dvd or anything like that gets people complaining they don't want them in their computers anymore, or on their laptops if it adds extra bulk. i personally think these people are stupid, but lets look at it like this. this is basically a base station, i remember old laptops having base stations that had cd drives extra batteries, and such, i see no reason why a version of this couldnt be made with a dvd drive, extra battery, or a user installable hdd.

granted the above may never apply to apple, but a windows tablet may allow those at some point.

Actually, I've never messed with a tablet. I spend all day writing. I deal with Word and PDF files all day, and some are over 100 pages. So, until a tablet can run dual 24" 1920X1200 monitors in pivot mode, I'm sticking to a PC.

you are talking about now useing a computer which can handle 2 screens (not sure if integrated will do that)
a bare minimum computer would be what 300-400$, add on the cheapest lcd i can find at 1920x1200 is 250$ and you want 2, that brings it to at least a 900$ setup you are talking about.

now lets just go ipad for this, the newest ones have a resolution of 2048x1536 so if you were talking about how clean you want it to look, ipad has you there and if you dont need to have 2 pages at once, gives you over all a higher definition.

you also cant take that dual 24 inch monitor setup anywhere you go, while ipad you really can if you want to. granted i wouldn't buy still. if you want to talk just pdf and reading, the ipad can do that, i believe...

now when you talk about writing, yea, tablets blow at that, but get a blue tooth keyboard, and than they become fairly good, and i know there is a microsoft office for ipad, don't know how good it is, but just writing i'm sure it would be fine.

you are looking at this as someone who is replacing a pc with a tablet, when you should be coming at it from an "i have a tablet and i want a good case for it" point of view.

and i look at it from a what if they made this for a sub 250$ tablet. im also looking at future possibilities if this takes off. it could add exturnal batteries to make it last longer, have an external hdd for added media (not apps or anything, but media like your files pictures and video) or even if they added a bluray or dvd player to it at some point, as many tablets can output 720-1080p

[citation][nom]runswindows95[/nom]How about we accept the fact I will never own a tablet? You're not the first person that's tried to convince how great the are, nor will you be the last.[/citation]

not trying to convince you, just stateing facts.

At its thickest point, the case measures 19mm making the iPad-laptop just a couple millimeters thicker than a MacBook Air.
