Crypto currency and GPU insanity:
http://www.nowinstock.net/computers/videocards/nvidia/gtx1080/

At least I can get them on the open market at "the steal" price of $500 to $1,500 OVER regular MSRP/Retail price. :pfff:

I have "in stock" auto notify from both the direct sites (such as New Egg) and from third party websites (such as was listed above in OP).

I get the "in stock" notificiation from the above website and from other websites. They are bought out so quick that by the time I get the alert and go to the site.... poof.... gone. They are gone that quick. Im talking about a minute or two. Not even these multiple alert sites and New Egg auto notify me is helping me, the average guy just looking to upgrade my old GTX 560. Its been like this for a while.

Same here I still have my old 7870 I got back in 2012-13, and need a GPU upgrade but the prices are crazy... what I am almost tempted on doing (which I Think can be cheaper then buying the GPU outright) is buying a prebuilt pc with a high end GPU along with some other parts thats I could use to upgrade my current pc (like SSD, PSU) and then once I get the new pc, just take out the parts I want and then sell the rest on craiglist or whatnot to make a few bucks back or break even.

I think this was even on either here, or some article I read where because of this mining insanity/craze that it might actually be cheaper to buy a pre-built pc then to build a pc piece by piece.

and I guess it isn't just GPU's that have high price, even the RAM itself is on the high.

Ive been getting alerts more frequently now this past week so NVidia must be shipping more. Problem is, as soon as I get the alert I head to the site and literally 30 - 60 seconds later, the cards are sold.
