Hey guys i recently bought crysis 2 and expected to have better performance is this a leading problem with all ati cards? i shifted around the forums and everyone else seems to be having these problems
Specs
amd 965 OC 3.7
msi 6950-flashed to 6970 (880 1375)
4 gigs 1600 ddr3
1000 watt power supply
MOBo m4a77td
1920x1080

Reason why i asked is because without dx11 on and high resolution patch on im only getting around 30-40 Fps

thanks in advance

I went NVIDIA this time around but my GTX 570 pulls about 55fps with DX9 at 1920x1200 and maxed graphics. Add DX11 and the high res textures and that number drops significantly (thus why I went SLI).

Crysis 2 DX11 prefers Nvidia:

If you find the game slowing down in some places due to high hard drive access turn off the high resolution textures. I noticed that you only have 4GB of RAM and I got major slow down in the latter half of the game due to not having enough RAM (hard drive light was constantly on) but the game behaved fine when I turned that off. That or add another 4GB of RAM ^_^. The large texture pack itself doesn't have too much of an effect on performance so long as you have a 1GB card and enough RAM to store those textures.

Switch off V-Sync and you can drop that a bit. That's what I did and I get 30-40 fps everywhere, unless I start shooting ARs in water :) P.S. No much-dreaded tearing that everyone seems so afraid of.
