So today I went out and preordered Crysis 2 before actually finding out the system requirements. (Probably not the smartest idea I've ever had)
So Im just wondering whether anyone has actually seen any official system requirements for the game? If not does anyone have any idea of how well my system will run Crysis 2?
Ill either be using a single monitor at 1280x1024, or 3 monitors in eyefinity at 3840x1024 depending on how well the game runs with all the optimisations of CryEngine 3.

- AMD Athlon II X2 250 CPU
- 2GB DDR2 800 RAM
- Gibabyte ATI Radeon HD 5750
- Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 MB
- Windows 7 32bit

Gaming at 1280 x 1024 with a HD 5750 will be fine.

Gaming at 3840 x 1024 with a HD 5750 will be a challenge since it is almost equal to a 30" 2560 x 1600 resolution monitor.

Note the low frame rates in Crysis Warhead and that's using a PC with the Intel i7-965 Extreme Edition CPU. Crysis 2 will be less stressful than Crysis, but it will not be a cake walk. Assuming the same test rig, I would think at 2560 x 1600 resolution the HD 5750 might get 10 or 11 FPS.

Thanks guys, thats pretty much the answer I was expecting :)
One last thing, with the price of RAM these days Ive been thinking about buying another 2GB stick, do you have any idea how much it would affect the performance of this sort of gaming? thanks

Definite yes. I got an extra 2GB and it made a huge difference, especially with StarCraft 2 on Windows 7 x64.

The extra 2 GB of RAM would be very helpful, both in gaming and the rest of your computing tasks.

I'd recommend getting a new kit (2x2) just to be safe, its only $64.99, that way you will be fine if your current ram isnt compatible, or if your current is compatible, you will have 6GB which would be even better!

G.SKILL 4GB (2x2) DDR2 800 - $64.99 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122

or if you you can find another 2GB stick of your current RAM, it shouldn't be too expensive, at the most $40.

No official system requirements where released. People should be worrying about recommended system requirements in order to run the game in at least medium. Crysis was a resource whore. crysis warhead looked better and used alot less resouces to look good. AND THIS GAME WILL RUN MUCH BETTER ON BEEFY MACHINES IF YOU RUN IT IN DX11. I tried running wow on my $300 card and i couldnt get above 15 fps until i enabled dx11 which now i cannot go below 60fps. The game will look great on xbox ps3 and especially PC. crytex listens to the community and in the first week the game will run smoother than on launch day.

Here are predicted recommended requirements:

Windows 7, xp

Core 2 duo 2.6ghz+, core i5 2.8ghz+, core i7

RAM 4gb min

Graphics card: dx11 support. 1gb GPU

Should a Core i7, 6GB DDR3 RAM, and Two HD 5870's in CF play Crysis 2 fairly well? I heard that Crysis 2 is supposed to perform better than Crysis and have lesser system requirements.

If I can play Crysis/Crysis Warhead on very high/enthusiast at 1920x1080 and still get 30-60 fps with my current setup, Crysis 2 shouldn't be a sweat.

You are either a troll or just trying to boast about your system.

Niether is welcomed here.

First off, I DO NOT support piracy!

With that said, I have heard said pirates who have played the leak version are finding it plays quite well on reasonable hardware. Meaning you don't need 5870 in CF or GTX 580's. I know the leaked version is not the final version but it was the only encouraging news to come from the debacle.

In the spirit of trolling:

I just hope my
i5 750 @4.0
8GB DDR3
2X5870 1GB CF

will be able to run Crysis 2 @1920x1080 :p

I can play Crysis/ Warhead on max settings, no AA at 1280x1024 usually without too much lag, so although I dont know much at all about the GT430, you should be able to play at pretty reasonable settings considering Crysis 2 is supposed to be alot more optimised.

My system specs are:
- dual core 3Ghz AMD CPU
- 2GB DDR2 800 (Im also looking at getting another 2GB sometime soon depending on how my system hanldes Crysis 2)
- Radeon HD 5750

But if anything, I believe it'll be your video card that will cause the problems, only time will tell though :)

The system requirements I posted are actually the official system requirements. But yes I'm keen to know what the recommended requirements will be :)

Ok well from the sounds of it youll probably be looking at medium and maybe some low settings if you want playable framerates then, have you thought about overclocking the card at all?

I thought to overclock it after having crysis 2.. If it lags i will overclock it.. Do you think there will be a big difference?

Just posted in another thread:

Minimum: 2GHz Core 2 Duo / A64 X2 CPU, 2GB RAM, 8800GT / HD3850, 512MB Video Memory, DX9.0c, Shader Model 3.0, Windows XP, 20fps @ 1024 x 768

Recommended: 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo / A64 X2 CPU, 3GB RAM, GTX280 / HD4870, 1GB Video Memory, DX9.0, Shader Model 3.0/4.0, Windows XP, 30fps @ 1650 x 1080

Highly Recommended: 3GHz Core i7 4GB RAM, GTX560Ti / HD4870 X2, 1.8GB Video Memory, DX11, Shader Model 3.0/4.0, Windows 7, 30fps @ 1920 x 1200

And I note: No AA settings listed...that could degrade performance even farther.
