Crysis 3 gives, 12-18 FPS MAX?!

I had just built my new comp, I have a 212 evo heatsink (not that it really matters) and the FX 8350 4.0ghz 8 core cpu from amd, and the 7970 ghz edition factory overclocked, I monitor my frames during game play, and it is playable, and i have everything on 'Very High' it gives the same FPS when I just go to 'High' but i am not sure if that is normal.. I heard crysis can spit out a $1000 gpu quite easily but that is kinda hard to believe.

Is this normal?

Aditionall info:
GPU RAM: 3GB
Monitors: 1
GPU CLOCK: 1100Mhz
GPU MEMORY CLOCK: 1500Mhz
GPU TEMP during Crysis gameplay: 62 C - 67 C

CPU TEMP during Crysis Gameplay: 135 F after about 30 mins
CPU USAGE during Crysis Gameplay: below 55% always

Though crysis 3 is incredibly gpu intensive, you have the second fastest single gpu out right now, as well as a cpu that doesn't bottleneck it. There is certainly a problem here. Can you give us the exact setting you are using?

I have the latest drivers, I have a 1080p LCD Monitor from Asus... Litterly everything in the game is turned up to the highest, except the motion blur is disabled.. But even when everything is put down one selection from the highest setting it doesn't help, that much.. I got the drivers from AMDs site, and had used to autoselect thing to find the right driver through the site, but the GPU came with a disk.. Should I have used that??

this is your problem you cant play crysis 3 on maxed out all settings to max on a single card. motion blur turned off wont help your issue. turn down your settings.

Wow!! What really helped was turning it on 4X MSAA instead of 8x, got an amazing 40 FPS with it!! :D The game looks exactly the same as well, when I put in on 2x, it gives me a nice old 50 FPS, which is just fine for me! Thanks redeemer.

Crysis 3 is one of those games which needs AA no matter what resolution you're on. At 1440p there are so many jaggies its not funny, even with max AA there are heaps. Its just a badly designed game I guess, there are some parts which look good though.

I haven't played the game yet, but generally this is a result of foliage and other transparent textures. MSAA does not touch anything but the outside of defined objects. It takes SSAA to fix that, but it is ridiculously hard on a GPU, transparency SSAA on Nvidia cards can usually help or Adaptive-MSAA on AMD, but they often are not supported.
