Greetings. I am looking at running an EVGA GTX 670 FTW 2GB SLI configuration. According to certain web pages, I will not be able to run Crysis 3 in optimal settings with my current GPU. It is suggested I upgrade to a GTX 680. My question is, if I buy another card and run my rig in SLI, will it be more powerful than a single GTX 680 Classified 4GB? (That is what I am looking at if I have to upgrade) Does running SLI combine the CUDA cores as well as the other specs of the cards? I am under the impression that running SLI basically gives you one giant card combining all specs. Am I wrong? I just want something that isn't going to flinch come time for Crysis 3. On a side note, Battlefield 3 runs on Ultra without breaking a sweat on my PC if that gives someone a better idea of what this rig can currently handle. Thank you all for your time!

Current PC:

OS: Win 7 64bit Pro Service Pack 1
MoBo: Asus Sabertooth Z77
CPU: Intel i7-3770k
RAM: Corsair DOMINATOR Platinum Series 32 GB (CMD16GX3M2A1866C9)
GPU: 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 FTW
LCU: Corsair H80
PSU: Rosewill Bronze 1000W

what a load of garbage. of-coarse you will have enough polly pushing power to run it at max...
as for needing a 680, thats garbage 2. its a console game now. running off the cryengine. the difference between max settings and minimum is nominal at best but the high end features are just there to say there pushing the cards as far as they can go. they do very little to improve the image quality while inflicting a massive overhead on the hardware... in 2 years time you willl get exactly the same performance for half the hardware overhead. because the programs will be better optimized... so yeah it may well have ultra high end features but they wont have much of an impact on the visual quality.

AS true as it's told

Just look at Far Cry 3 at lowest vs. highest settings in DX9 vs DX11. Difference is minimal!

And difference in performance is off the scale, it's just insane.
