I hope this is the right forum. Apologies if not.
I'm playing Crysis on lowest settings @ 1024x768 resolution with vsync enabled and AA turned off and I'm getting no higher than 25 frames per second.
Now....
I'll switch to Very High settings @ 1680x1050 resolution with vsync still enabled and AA turned to 8x.... but I'm STILL stuck at 25 FPS.
Why is this happening? Shouldn't FPS go higher on the lowest settings rather than stay stuck at the same with the highest settings?
Here are my specs...
Intel Core i7-2700k 3.5Ghz
Mushkin 8GB DDR3 (2x 4GB)
Seagate SV35 Series 500GB 7200
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB
SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze 520watt
I have the latest drivers for my video card and everything else.
NOTE: I turned off vsync and I got a ~15 FPS increase which is understandable but the screen tearing is very distracting. I also should mention I'm playing on an HDTV thru HDMI.
I'd just like to know why I'm not getting a performance change between the lowest and highest settings and how to improve it. It's very strange.
