Crysis Performance at 1280x1024

Hi,
Looking to build a new computer. I want to be able to play Crysis at 1280x1024 Very High/High Quality. This is the system I am currently considering:

AMD Phenom 9850 Quad 2.5 GHz
Asus M3A32 Deluxe
Corsair XMS 2GB DDR2 1066
eVGA 8800GT 512MB Superclocked
Windows XP Pro SP3

Will I be able to run Crysis ok with those specs? I have looked online for some reviews, but its harding finding those exact specs. Thanks.

go intel with e8400 and a gts 512mb g92 based gpu and you should be able to play in high quality

very high is a stretch for a single gpu

If he's only using Windows XP, he'll have no problem running crysis Very High with the e8400 and 8800gts 512. If you want the real graphics test, get windows vista and run crysis in dx10. In that case, you might be pushing the 1 gpu at very high all, so you either would want to go for SLI, or wait for the new cards coming out (nvidia and ati), and see which one performs best. I would honestly wait a few weeks for the new cards and see their benchmarks. SLI won't benefit you much at 1280x1024, and 1 currently available GPU won't perform as well as you want it to in crysis dx10 very high all.

1 GPU can be fine for Very High as long as you don't have AA on. I have a Q9450 and 1 9800GTX (both at stock at the moment) and run everything Very High and DirectX 10 with a res of 1650x1080 and it runs beautifully.

Anyway, he's running XP, so Very High isn't even an option (unless he modifies some of the game files). I can't imagine having much trouble getting high with the system listed as I've run Crysis on Med/High on a system with an E6300 and 7900 GS both at stock at the resolutiotion he's wanting.

Thanks for the replies. I said 1280x1024 because that is all that my 19" Samsung LCD can support. So, I am taking it that the 8800GT should be able to play HIGH settings (DirectX 9) without issue. If I am able to sustain a constant 35 FPS, it should be playable.

I have a E6750, BFG 8800GT (OC) and 4 GB (3.3 GB usable) of DDR2. Running Vista 32 Home Premium. I'm able to play Crysis at 1280x1024 with everything set to High.

I'd highly recommend more than 2 GB of ram if you want to play Crysis. When I had only 2 GB the game would sometimes lag a bit. Once I upgraded to 4 GB, the lag completely disappeared.
