Hi!
I want to buy a HDD that was used for mining ... and I am not sure how to interpret the data from CrystalDiskInfo ... any red flags? Thank you!

All drives are subject to die at any moment. All of them.
A used HDD, no matter what it was used for, is closer to that death.

You will likely have no warranty on this, so when it does die, you're out.

Personally, I don't buy used storage devices, unless they are under $10.

These ones are under warranty ... and I understand the issues ... but ... is there something wrong in the report?
Does that warranty transfer to a second buyer?
Has Seagate stated this in writing?

I see nothing in that CDI as critical.
But, it is a used drive.

What is the price differential between this used drive and a NEW one in your market?

Your Product -- IronWolf Pro 12 TB
Model Number -- ST12000NE0008
Serial Number -- ZTNnnnnn
Warranty Valid Until 14 August 2026 (Regional warranty restrictions apply)
Rescue Data Recovery Service Plan Valid Until 14 August 2024

If SMART is reporting the number of LBAs written to the drive rather than bytes, then the total writes is 12.05 TB. That's what one would expect if it had been zero filled prior to sale ???
