Hello,

I had this problem before on my E: drive(also with 200 pending sectors) and i thought i fixed it, guess i was wrong.
I now have 200 pending sectors and i have no idea as to what i need to do. there's a picture of my E status included
i used wd data diagnostics and it was unable to repair the bad sectors

Hi there funkeypim12,

That is really unpleasant. 🙁

My suggestion would be to back up the data stored on the drive. It seems that there is something wrong with it.
The weak/bad sectors are increasing. Furthermore, this read error rate could indicate some mechanical flaw.

Is the drive under warranty? In case it is, you can just contact the place you got it from or WD's Support and eventually RMA it: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=nUMeg0

Apart from all this, I believe it will not hurt to attach the drive with different SATA and power cables to another SATA port. Then, you can check whether you will get write errors again. (try this after all the data is backed up)

Let us know how this goes,

The raw data has jumped to 1B now. What is read error rate?
But i think its serious, i cant install games, they get a disk write error

i tihnk i changed a few of the cables but that didnt help, i contacted WD too, just waiting for an answer from them now

well, i contacted WD and i got the answer that my hdd isnt bought from them, its bought from some company that buys them in bulk, but i didnt buy the hdd so i dont know wherer my friend got it from. So now my friend will hand me a new one when he is in the neighboorhood.

well, i tried to write zeros to the disk, windows had to restart and checkdisk on bootup.
after all that i now cannot access my E: anymore, it is just one, i can see it in device manager and crystaldisk info says its drive 0, file explorer doesnt see it either.. fuck
atleast it was broken already.

I dont know how it shows on my bios, need to check that, but it doesnt say 0gb but drive0 instead of drive E

okay, we coudnt find it anywhere in the BIOS but i have been able to format it again, and it is still going but i checked crystal diskinfo and the pending sectors is at 00000 raw data, the read error rate is at 4B7 though, it passes the test..

i'm just gonna wait till my friends drops another one off because i cant rma it i think. is a read error rate of 4B7 bad or not?
