While I can see streaming services that are multi-platform being a huge part of our future, I simply cannot see it today due to bandwidth limitations. Media is also getting more and more demanding while the ISPs aren't doing much to resolve the issues that already exists.

Home entertainment is definitely up to scratch. 5-6 years ago i remember aiming for a ping of around 120-180ms, anywhere between there was brilliant. Nowadays, loading LoL or playing an FPS i'll be seeing latency of around 30-40ms. Now your telling me there's been little to no improvement? I know i get a lot of downvotes from saying this in other comment sections, but i really do think onlive is a brilliant idea. True we all hate it as we see it as another desktop killer and i am included in the bunch who want to keep these machines alive but we can't stubbornly stand in the way of progress.

On a separate note, they haven't got a chance of taking on steam, they have too many sales and have such a nice client i can't see anyone topping it.

with a max download speed of 150kb/s and upload of about 26kb/s on 1500/256 adsl1(which is the best in tasmania/australia at my location), i wont beable to stream games, and also will have about 350-450ms to america. GFACE IS A TERRIBLE IDEA ....

I see this maybe competing with facebook. As long as they don't require you to jump through hoops as facebook does. I can not begin to count the times i've had to go through their security (receive a text and enter the number or matching pictures of friends to their profiles) that stuff gets old really fast. Then they also at times ask you to send in a copy of an id. I'm just waiting for them to require blood work or a urine sample to keep your account. >_< If they treat their customers better then facebook i could easily see myself jumping ship to here.

Steam is great and its had a long time to mature. I cant stand origin and I do not welcome other companies trying to jump on the bandwagon with things like this. I don't want to have to log in to 14 different game programs to play my games.

I don't need another content delivery system. Steam is enough. The only reason I even have origin on my pc is because of BF3. Honestly, it doesn't work nearly as good as steam, and i'd much rather just have BF3 on steam. Last thing I want is a different service for every game, 1 is enough. I dunno if anyone agree's, but this is one area I wish there actually was a monopoly. Just a pain switching between clients, keeping them updated, adding different friends, ect. ect.

The only thing steam needs is to do is integrate an onlive type service so you could play your games on any pc when your not at home. Also what would be really cool, is if they made it so you could actually stream your games from your home pc. That way, instead of paying onlive a fee to play games I already own, I can just stream games from my home pc to any other pc. Just an idea.
