Hi, I tried I think almost every possible method to increase CSGO fps on my crappy pc 😀 I increased my fps alot by all these methods i used. So, when I'm on a empty server my fps can be stable at 60 fps with fps_max 61, but when I add bots or something my fps drops to 30-40... and its same at competative matches... But one more thing I can play community servers that are hosted by players on 60 fps stable idk why?? I tough that my fps gets low from the number of players, but in community servers there are about 10-20 players and i get 55-60 fps and when i play competative where are 10 players (with me) it drops to 30-40... why?? So I wonder if someone can give me some methods on increasing fps, I did alot of methods already as I said. My specs are crappy and I know it, but I dont have money to investigate on new parts... SO:
CPU: AMD ATHLON 64 x2 +4400 dual core proc 2.3ghz, but I OC it to 2.5ghz. (I know that its the bottleneck to CSGO cuz the game is for nice procs, but anyways..)
GPU: Nvidia geforce GTS 250 512 MB 256bit
RAM: 2gb (This is another bottleneck i know, but yea..)
HDD: 250 GB (20 GB free all the time at disk C) also I defrag the disk and scan for viruses or malware.
Think thats all about the specs... my pc is like 8 years old and I can't afford a new one LOL 😀 but LIFE IS LIFE... So i'm waiting for your advices!! And sorry for my bad english!!!

You might be able to overclock further. Of course it depends on mobo and cooler. If you try to push it further just stress test in prime 95 for 6 hours or so. I'd say a safe max temp is 65 celsisus but I'd play it safe and stop at 60. Have you tried over clocking the gpu? It's easier than cpu if you don't go crazy. If you try that out use furmark to stress test and watch out for artifacts. Increase by small amounts until you get to a place you desire and where you're stable. I'd say go for a mild oc.

I used this guide before I build my new pc. I'm not sure if you've done these already but if not it helps a bit. Also I assume you've lowered resolution? If it still lags on the lowest resolution on 16:9 then you could switch to 4:3? That's what I did and it made the game lag free and frankly I found it much easier to get them dank one taps on that ratio. Of course turn off anti aliasing. Switch settings in windows to high performance by going to control panel> power options.
