[SOLVED] CS:GO FPS/Performance?

Hi all, this is just a post to see what FPS I should be getting on CS:GO. I run the game at 1440x1080(4:3 stretched) I have everything on low except MSAA which is on 8x msaa, I also have it enhanced in nvidia control panel with 8x supersample. I get about between 200-300 fps but have seen people getting 300/400 maybe even 500fps on csgo with the same specs.

I7 7700k stock
Msi Gtx 1070
16gb corsair lpx ram 3200mhz

Try typing fps_max 0 in console while ingame. The fps of csgo cap at 300 on default.

do you need more then the 200-300 fps though? I get around 250 fps ingame with a ryzen 7 2700x and a rtx 2070 144 fps is enough for my monitor refresh rate anything higher doesn't really matter

Unlike most games the games engine is tied to FPS so higher FPS results in smoother gameplay and faster reaction times.

but if you have a 60 hz screen why would it matter?

Because if you turn off vsync you still get the most recent image as fast as the monitor can handle it (response time not refresh rate)
