I have 516 hours in this game. I have a very good pc which can run ANY games without breaking a sweat. But when I re-downloaded CS:GO on steam to play with my friends, it kept freezing right after starting the game, nothing pops up, no notification, I can only kill it with task manager. I'm an IT guy so don't get me started with "advices" such as "TrY uPdAtInG yOuR dRiVeRs MAAAAN" and "REINSTALL IT BRO". I have clean installed it 5 times on 3 different drives, 1 ssd and 2 hdd-s. I have tried running it in -autoconfig and -safe modes, I even tried verifying the game files like a 100 times. 2 days ago I had a sort of a solution, I deleted csgo.exe, verified the files and in the launch options I wrote cl_disablehtmlmotd 1. It worked for 1 day. Today it still did the same freezing, I tried replicating this method but no success. My Pc specs are far more than enough for this <Mod Edit> game. Please, I need some valuable advice by someone who's had this same issue and got it fixed somehow. Thank you.

Solution
Try checking if your drive has been defragmented recently. I'd also try running a 'chkdsk' scan on your 'C' drive or whichever volume you have your game installed on and see if there has been any files corrupted.
in the meantime my friend came up with a solution which seems to work just yet, so for all who experience this problem:
Check if you have MSI afterburner and/or Riva Tuner Statistics server
if you do, quit these programmes and try launching CS:GO
these programmes seem to interfere with the game.

Yeah, I don't understand why MSI afterburner is so popular. There are better performance monitoring programs out there that hasn't been known to screw with peoples computer. I don't know if you have AMD or Nvidia, but I'd much rather use the performance overlay features that they provide. I use AMD's along with a program called 'Remote System Monitor'. The only thing the latter doesn't report is the vram usage, which is why I still use AMD with it. You'll have to install it on your cell phone for it to work.
