cs:go HIGH cpu usage..

Battlefield 4 is mostly GPU intensive. CS:GO is CPU intensive. While in-game, open the console and type "fps_max 100". Report back if the temperature lower or not.

"Make all your graphical adjustments with the knowledge that CS:GO is a CPU-limited game in general. There's no holy grail console or config command that can dramatically improve your FPS, but there are some slight tweaks we can make.

Drop all your in game graphics settings to low, disable anti-aliasing, enable multi-core rendering
Add these launch options to your launch parameters in Steam (see screenshot above):

-novid -console -high -threads...
Temp of 72C is dangerous for that processor. Do you mean stock as in stock speeds, or that you are using the stock cooler? If you are using the stock cooler, it is very likely that is why your CPU is reaching that temperature.
Different games have different results too. I don't think it is a hardware problem, but is likely just that CS:GO is taking a lot of resources to run. But before you check around on that, make sure you aren't overclocked and also make sure you use a aftermarket CPU cooler. They work so much better, and they are fairly cheap.

I am using a noctua NH-U9B SE2 in push/pull.. I meant stock speed. Are you sure that 72C is dangerous? It goes to 70C very fast even though i got very good cooling..

These commands disable the intro, enable the console, set the process affinity to high, and grant your cores to CS:GO, even though technically Source can only use 3 threads. Some players add the -processheap parameter thinking it will grant better fps, but because this substitutes Windows memory management for Valve's own code it is highly recommend to remove it."

Hi i have the exact same cpu as you and i only recently got it, i was worried that it was faulty after seeing the usage on cs go, did you find a way to fix this ?

Sorry, this might sound like a dumb question but have you applied your cooling pasta properly? It seems odd that you get such a high tempature. I have same cooling and I get 45 degrees max on CSGO and my game runs smoothly at atleast 200 FPS

You have a pretty high temp even in stock cooler. Make sure the cooler is seated properly. I also play CS:GO with my i5 4440 with integrated GPU at stock cooler and I get a CPU temp of 45°C (50-60% usage) with an ambient temp of 25°C.
