Hey!

Recently I have gotten back into CS:GO on a new rig but found out I get only 80-120fps.
I should be getting well over that consider I have a i7 3370 and a GTX 1080. I thought at first it was my PCs problem but I found out I could play games like the witcher 3 with everything on (Excluding v-sync) at ultra at 80 fps, and BF1 with ultra/high/low with 110 fps.
Its infuriating as my friends with lower end PCs tend to have higher FPS (300).
I have tried rolling back drivers, clean uninstall and install, I have tried every possible setting in CS:GO I've even lowered my res to 800x600 to find I get a avg of 80 fps on that. I've tried so much and browsed so many forums but nothing helped so here I am. I would love any Idea you guys might have.
Thanks!

well thats the problem. since few updates ago, CSGO works quite differently. having beast GPU means nothing if your CPU is meek, not saying that your CPU is actually meek, but doesn't matter how strong the GPU is, it would still have to queue its task before CPU.
i've tried so many things trying to fix this problem and the only workaround i came to is to pump heavier load on the GPU by cranking up the resolution, graphic settings, use cl_forcepreload 1, fps_max 999, max prerendered frame 1, maximum performance power management and even enabling triple buffering vsync and double capping the fps using MSI Afterburner to 1 frame below my refresh rate(which is 119 fps to 120 hz)
i might never see the joy of seeing uber high fps again, but...
1.type "fps_max 0" in console
2.set all your settings to low
3.maybe your cores are all not running on the game download park control which always enables them to play games on
4.set your csgo launch options to make the game run or use high CPU (1 launch option I use is "-high"

Hey james, thanks for the reply. It helped but only by 10 frames, I still see it reaching 110 fps when playing FFA deathmatchs or just plain CS:GO deathmatch. My old pc which had extremely outdated parts ran it way better 🙁

i might never see the joy of seeing uber high fps again, but at the very least it's performing steady at capped fps, buttery smooth without tearing and input lag.
