Hello,

So It's been some months since I've been having this problem where my cs2 just randomly freezes/crashes in the middle of game. I've been using the launch settings -vulkan so It'll only freeze but If I don't use it then the game crashes mid game, but vulkan decreases fps and I'm getting continuous stutters with it. The temperatures are fine, under 75 degrees. I'm not sure what's causing this issue. Even If I close all the background apps the same thing happens. I've already tried few methods to fix this but none of them worked such as reinstalling drivers, downloading latest drivers, Updating motherboard bios, reinstalling the game. My previous intel cpu wasn't crashing or freezing. So I'm pretty sure It's a problem with the amd side. This doesn't happen in most games. Also another issue is that If i switch to desktop (Different Resolution) It appears to be all black. Does anyone know how to fix this?

How old is the PSU in your build?

BIOS version for your motherboard? Did you use DDU to remove all GPU drivers, then manually reinstalled with the latest driver sourced off of AMD's support site, in an elevated command?

I bought my psu a month ago brand new, Bios version of my motherboard is F15a which is the latest one in the gigabyte's website. Yes, I used DDU to remove all gpu drivers then reinstalled them from amd's website. I'm not sure what you mean by a elevated command.

Here's the link of Psu: https://www.thermaltake.com/toughpower-gf-650w-tt-premium-edition-regional-only.html

Hello,

So my game has been crashing like crazy too, and it has caused my other (Steam) games to step in line with CS2 and crash on launch or crash while trying to load a map/load hero selection... you get the point. My Steam games are crashing to my desktop without any error, does this sound like what you are facing? This just started happening within the last week whenever my friend group decided to pick up CS2 again. Dota 2 is doing the same thing, just attempted to launch Witch It and I finally got an error message, "Out of memory trying to allocate a rendering resource. Make sure your video card has the minimum required memory, try lowering the resolution and/or closing other applications that are running. Exiting..." Other games I'm not getting any error codes.

I was just at Micro Center trying to get assistance and they told me my CPU was bad, so they replaced it. Amazing. Get my computer back home and what do you know the same issue is there.

I have not tried to use DDU to uninstall my graphics drivers or reset my BIOS to default. But I feel like I've done everything in between.
-Set my RAM speed to more than half the speed of the RAM
-Swapped GPU's from my Asus ROG Strix 4090 to my old 2080Ti (Issues are still there and I've since sent the 4090 back because I thought that was causing my problems.)
-Reinstalled CS2/Dota 2 on 2 different SSD's
-Most recently I've set compatibility build mode to Windows 7/Vista you name it

Reason I mentioned Steam games is because other games, WoW, MTG Arena run just fine. It seems CS2 has become the bane of my existence.

If you have any ideas or you have found the fix please let me know, this is driving me nuts. Thank you.

Setup
-Aorus Z790 Elite AX
-i9-14900k
-EVGA 2080Ti FTW3
-G.Skill Trident Z5 2x16G 7200Mhz DDR5
-Thermal Take 850W

Yeah, same issue. Some of my games such as rdr2 randomly crashes without any error to desktop but this doesn't happen too often. My cs2 doesn't crash to desktop, It just stops, I can't hear game sound or anything.

The only "fix" I think I've found was reducing my CS2 graphics settings to Low. I have not tried playing with the settings like that, however the game will actually launch on the first attempt. The only reason I put "fix" is because it's bogus and Steam/Valve needs to figure out how to fix this.

The weirdest part between both of our issues is that you are running an AMD GPU and I'm running an Nvidia. Here I was thinking it's something related to my GPU, and you're running a completely different platform. So it doesn't make any sense to me.

I hate to point fingers and say it's not my fault but between our completely different setups and different platforms of equipment. I'm leaning on chalking this up and saying it's on Steam and Valve and not on our setups.

I will keep watching this thread like a hawk in the event that you find a solution. I wish you the best, I know how frustrating these computer issues can be!!!

Let me circle back around to this... this is like a .00001% fix. My game today crashed multiple times. One time with BSOD. Another time, I was playing the game for probably 2-3 hours, and in a custom lobby throwing smokes my game crashed. So take this horrible "fix" for what it is.
