THE PROBLEM: Start up the game. I can go look at my skins or edit settings or whatever. It is all good so far. I go to search for a game. The moment it has found a game, a black screen appears. Monitor says DVI no display. Computer does not respond. I am forced to restart the PC by holding the shut down button. The black screen can also appear in the warmup stage of a match and the early rounds of a match.
WHAT I'VE TRIED:
1) Updated all my drivers e.g. AMD, Java, Flash Player.
2) Locate "\SteamApps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo.exe" and right click the file and goto properties, once in properties UNCHECK 'Run As Administrator' and also UNCHECK 'Compatibility Mode' and then press 'Apply' then click 'OK'.
3) Go to your CS:GO folder, find csgo.exe (the application which starts the game) and DELETE this app. Then go to steam library - Right click CSGO - Go to properties - Local files - Verify integrity of Game Cache. When it's done you will get new csgo.exe file. Then right click on this new csgo application - Properties - Compatibility, and UNCHECK everything.
Go to Library - CS:GO - Properties - Set launch Options - cl_disablehtmlmotd 1
Then run the game from steam and check if it helps.
4) Open your Steam library. Search for CS:GO and right click on it. Select properties. Here select "Launch options" and type in "-autoconfig". Launch CSGO.
5) Reinstalled the game.
EXTRA INFORMATION: The problem is specific to CSGO. I have BF1 and Overwatch and those games play well. My PC specs are:
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 2.67GHz
RAM: 12GB Triple-Channel DDR3
Motherboard: ASUSTek Computer INC. P6x58D
Graphics: ASUS VH222H (1920x1080@59Hz)
8192MB ATI Radeon RX 480 Graphics (ATI)
Storage: 298GB Western Digital WDC WD3200AAJS-22B4A0 ATA Device (SATA)
Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio
I am not sure if this is linked. I recently had a hard drive failure in which I lost all my data on my PC. It was completely random. Hard Drive failure was determined as the PC would not 'recognize windows' and when the PC was on, the hard drive was not functioning. Originally, I had two drives in my PC, so I took the faulty one out and installed a new copy of Windows on the second hard drive. Maybe this has something to do with CSGO? I am not sure.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.
